Carl Sandburg Middle School Dance Team
On Feb. 22, at Gar-Field's Dance Invitational in Woodbridge, the Carl Sandburg Middle School Dance Team competed in the middle school category against local dance teams from Fairfax County Public Schools and Prince William County Schools. The Carl Sandburg Dance Team won the title of Grand Champions. This is the second Grand Champion title the dancers have won this season. Additionally, the team won firsst place in the following categories: Captains, Pom, Jazz, and Hip hop. Eighth graders Rebekah Jenne, Marissa Nolasco, and Nikki Alderman won first, second, and third for their solos. Terrance Yarborough, the principal of Carl Sandburg Middle School, attended the dance competition and cheered for the dancers.
